It is important for all Office Agents to keep up to date with the latest issues affecting our work whether it is of a legal, technical, design, marketing or technological nature. A key function of the OAS is to organise seminars to update Members, they are usually given by guest speakers from leading professional practises but we have had a range of speakers including an MP. Some seminars are hosted jointly with the RICS. The downloads below also provide an information resource to help towards your requirement for informal CPD.
Hogan Lovells – Permitted Development; The Legacy
8am Thursday 19th October 2017 - CBRE, Henrietta House, Henrietta Place, London, W1G 0NB
In April 2012 Hogan Lovells Solicitors presented to the OAS with their views on the likely impact of Permitted Development legislation that would allow conversion of offices to residential without the usual planning process. This has had an extraordinary impact on the south east office market – negative in some markets which have lost much of their stock and positive in others which have seen a start of speculative development. They have kindly agreed to present again to us and give an overview of how this market changing legislation has developed and how it has been applied in practice. Attendees will be asked to raise experiences of interest!
